LIMELife Autumn, on Friday 2 October 2009, will feature the music of Spiro, one of the favourite groups from the Llangollen 2009 @SIX concerts. This instrumental four-piece contemporary ensemble from the Bristol area proved a big hit with outside stage audiences, as well as Radio 3 listeners previously with their flair and skill on the acoustic guitar, mandolin, violin and accordion. As one of their top supporters, the legendary Peter Gabriel, said, "I think this is soulful music, passionate music and I love it." In support of Spiro, we are pleased to welcome a local band who proved very popular on "People's Sunday" at the 2009 Eisteddfod - The Overtonians. This acoustic folk band will provide a lively start to what promises to be, an evening that recognises the importance of folk influences to the Eisteddfod and also reflects the importance of introducing local performers to the stage. With a hog-roast at 7pm, and bar supplied by the Sun Trevor, followed by the concert at 8pm, we look forward to welcoming our supporters old and new to this inaugural event where you will have the opportunity to buy Eisteddfod CDs and merchandise. Tickets will be available from the Box Office at the Royal International Pavilion from 8 September. TICKET (to include food, but not drink) £14. Concessions £12. Tel. 01978 860111 (please note Box Office number for this event). To find out more about Spiro follow this link.
