We are delighted to announce that LIMELife Winter will consist of two events.

On 16 December at 6pm at the Royal International Pavilion, LIMELife Winter will bring together over 100 children from five Wrexham and Flintshire Primary Schools to celebrate the joy and peace of the season through song. Each school will present pieces of their own choice and come together to raise the roof in both traditional and new songs. Amongst the repertoire will be favourites such as Away in a Manger and In the Bleak Midwinter, as well as pieces that may be less well-known; Peace Child, Celebrate this Christmas, Building a Bridge, and Bethlehem.

Tickets are available from the Eisteddfod Office on 01978 862001, priced at £5 (Concessions £3).

This concert develops to a new level our outreach to children and schools; we are now working regularly with around 20 different schools each year.

The second of the winter concert celebrations - "LIMELife Winter, Too!" - sees top Welsh choir Ysgol Glanaethwy in performance on Friday 22 January. For this concert we shall be at the new Catrin Finch Centre at Glyndwr University in Wrexham, as work will already have begun on the Pavilion improvements and canvas!

Under the direction of Cefin and Rhian Roberts, Glanaethwy have been winners at Llangollen on many occasions and, following on from Llangollen now have a further reputation after their success in the BBC's 'Last Choir Standing' - when they came second only to Only Men Aloud. With local singer, Clare Phillips, another Eisteddfod prizewinner and favourite in 'support', these exciting and enthusiastic performers promise a wonderful evening comprising a wide repertoire of their favourites songs and choral pieces.

Again, tickets are available from the Office on 01978 862001 and are priced at £15 (Concessions £12). Ticket numbers are restricted for this event, and early booking is strongly advised.

The LIMELife programme is supported by the Esmeé Fairbairn Foundation, and we are hugely grateful to the Foundation in giving us the opportunity to stage these seasonal events as part of our developing artistic and sustainability programme.
