UK-Based Competitors will be given free access to the Eisteddfod. They are expected to make their own arrangements for meals. Of UK-based competitors, only those invited to perform in a concert can be offered an evening meal free of charge. UK competitors needing assistance with arranging accommodation should write to the UK Competitors' Liaison Officer, Llangollen International Musical Eisteddfod, Royal International Pavilion, Abbey Road, Llangollen, LL20 8SW, North Wales. THIS SHOULD BE DONE AS SOON AS NOTIFICATION OF SELECTION HAS BEEN RECEIVED. Overseas Competitors will be offered accommodation from the day before their first competition until the morning after their final competition, subject to a charge which covers accommodation and meals. This charge will be communicated to competitors during the selection process. For guidance, we anticipate that this charge will be in the range of £25 - £40 per person per night. Should competitor groups wish to extend their stay, this can be arranged with the Overseas Competitors' Liaison Officer. Children will be accommodated together with those responsible for them, in approved accommodation. Accommodation will be in private homes in surrounding districts, or in a college hall of residence or similar dormitory facilities. Enhanced accommodation at hotels or similar establishments can be provided; this will be charged at cost, as will accommodation for non-competitors travelling with groups or soloists. Coaches to meet overseas groups at sea ports or airports can be arranged by the Competitors' Liaison Officer. Competitors will have to pay for these coach costs, which will be advised as necessary. The Eisteddfod has a Bursary Fund to which groups may wish to apply for financial assistance with accommodation costs. This is a restricted fund, however, and the festival is able to assist only a very limited number of groups in this way. It is important, therefore, that you consider the implications of the overall costs involved before submitting your application form, in order to ensure that cancellations are kept to a minimum. |
